Christmas surprise! Santa himself travelled with us between Madrid and Barcelona, handing out gifts and magic to all our passengers.
On Friday 19 December, OUIGO had a passenger who needed no introduction: sack over his shoulder, impeccable white beard and that unmistakable laugh that goes "Ho, Ho, Ho". Yes, Santa himself decided to park his sleigh (along with Rudolph) and bet on OUIGO’s high speed to hand out gifts between Madrid and Barcelona. Because, let’s be honest, what could be better than doing it at 300 km/h?
The news spread fast: Santa is travelling by train. And not just any train: on OUIGO. The day started with excitement, surprise and plenty of amazed faces in the carriages.
Surprise on the Madrid – Barcelona route
It all started on a train from Madrid bound for Barcelona. Travellers boarded expecting a normal journey: coffee, podcast, watching the scenery... the usual. But when Santa appeared walking through the carriages, the magic was unleashed. The faces of the little ones (and more than one adult) said it all: this wasn’t just any trip, it was Christmas at high speed.
After arriving in Barcelona, Santa didn’t stay put. He caught the train back to Madrid, because there was still magic to be shared. Throughout the journey, he kept handing out gifts, smiles and that Christmas atmosphere that turns any trip into a lasting memory.
Gifts and smiles for kids... and big kids too
Santa didn’t come empty-handed. He walked through every carriage with his sack full of surprises, handing out gifts to the little ones and also to the adults who still hold onto the same excitement as when they were children. Because Christmas knows no age limits: the magic is everywhere.
The kids were blown away, and the adults were too. There were hugs, photos, laughter and that sparkle in the eyes that only appears when something unexpected and beautiful happens. The goal was clear: to raise smiles and bring Christmas forward a little bit for everyone lucky enough to bump into him on board.
Christmas comes early on board
