Cheap train Madrid-Albacete

The departure station in Madrid is Madrid-Chamartín-Clara Campoamor. A very well communicated station that you can reach by taxi, private car or public transport: metro, bus or suburban trains. The arrival station is Albacete-Los Llanos, a modern railway complex, including a shopping centre, close to the city centre.

Albacete offers several places of interest that can be visited on a tour of the most touristic areas of the city. The Avenida de España, next to the Municipal Museum of Albacete, is a good starting point that leads us to the Abelardo Sánchez Park, the largest park  in the city. Its 100,000 square metres make it the largest park in the Castillae-La Mancha region. Calle Ancha is the centre of Albacete's shops and connects the city from north to south. At the crossroads with Calle del Tinte, we come across the Pasaje Lodares, some surprising galleries inspired by the Italian modernist style, with decorative large windows and a skylight that runs along the entire length. Continuing along Calle Ancha, we come to the Plaza del Altozano, where we find the old Town Hall building and the famous statue of the Cuchillero, a tribute to the traditional cutlery industry of Albacete .

On your tour of the city of Albacete, be sure to visit the old town hall building. The Palacio Casa Cortés, as it is called, currently houses the Municipal Museum of Albacete and the International Museum of World Folk Art. The building has a central tower with three clock faces whose mechanism is exactly the same as the famous Puerta del Sol clock in Madrid.
