The departure station for the low-cost Madrid–Elche train is Madrid-Chamartín–Clara Campoamor station.
It is located in the northern area of the capital, and you can reach it by private vehicle, taxi, or public transport (metro, bus, and commuter rail). The arrival station is Elche Alta Velocidad (Elche AV). It is located in Matola, about 5 km from Elche city centre. Several urban bus lines (251A, 253, L5, R4) stop near the station.

The central Palmeral of Elche is one of its top attractions, along with the Convent of Santa Lucía, which houses 12th-century Arab baths, and Plaza de la Glorieta, home to a replica of the Dama de Elche, an Iberian bust dating from between the 5th and 3rd centuries BC. Other must-see sights include Calahorra Tower, Santa Teresa Bridge, the Basilica of Santa María in Elche, and the Altamira Palace.
