Estación Málaga - María Zambrano

The Málaga - María Zambrano train station is the gateway to one of the most attractive destinations on the Mediterranean coast. Málaga, the capital of the Costa del Sol, offers sun and a privileged climate, beaches, culture, history, art, gastronomy, nature and leisure for all tastes. The main station in the city, the arrival and departure point for OUIGO trains is the Málaga - María Zambrano station, named after the philosopher and natural essayist from the town of Vélez-Málaga, belonging to the Axarquía region, one of the nine regions of the province of Málaga. In all of them you will find interesting places to visit, such as the Caminet del Rei, in the Guadalhorce Valley region; the towns of the Ronda mountain region or the municipalities of the Sierra de las Nieves region, surrounded by an impressive natural environment recognized as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. The Malaga capital stands out for its strong artistic heritage with museums such as the Picasso Museum, the Carmen Thyssen Museum Malaga and the Pompidou Centre Malaga, among others, along with events such as the famous Malaga Fair which is held every August or the Film Festival which opens every spring.

  • The Málaga-María Zambrano station is located in the Cruz de Humilladero district, close to the historic centre and just 200 metres from the intercity bus station that connects the capital with places such as Fuengirola, Benalmádena and Torremolinos. There are several urban bus lines that stop at the station (1, 3, 7, 16, 19, 24, 27, C2 and N1) and there is also a metro stop, El Perchel, belonging to lines 1 and 2 of the underground.

  • The Málaga - María Zambrano train station is a modern facility equipped with all the usual services for travellers, such as lockers, parking, car rental, restaurants, cafeterias, toilets, ATMs and a tourist information point, among others, together with services adapted for people with reduced mobility. The station is part of a shopping complex where you will find all kinds of shops.

  • The central location of the Málaga - María Zambrano train station makes it possible to visit some of the city's main points of interest in just a 10-minute walk, such as the Málaga Contemporary Art Centre, the church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen in El Perchel, a fishing district since Roman times, and the Alameda Principal, which houses some of the most notable buildings in Málaga and is part of the official route of the brotherhoods and guilds that participate in Málaga's Holy Week.
